P. & 0. passage to Hongkong.

+

It will be for you to

arrange your own passage and I am instructing the

Hongkong and Shanghai Bank (9, Gracechurch Street) to

I

pay for the passage. I must explain that if you should elect to travel by a cheaper means, you would only get

from the University the cost of your actual ticket. should advise you to start seeing about your passage at

once, as you can always make a provisional arrangement.

The terms of the appointment were explained

generally in my letter to Sir Michael Sadler. I am

asking Mr. Ainsworth to send you a more explicit statement

of these terms.

Please send a line, or if necessary, a cable to the Registrar, Hongkong University, as soon as your passage

is fixed. You will be met in Hongkong and looked after.

Nothing remains now except for me to say that I

shall hope to see you before long in Hongkong. I hope you

will be happy there. I shall do my best to see that you

are.

I am,

Yours sincerely,

(Sa) W.W. HORNELL.
